Just a few steps away from Rossoblu in Fashion District, this reasonably priced spot uses market-based ingredients and a three day dough proofing to serve what might be LA’s best new pizza this year.

The Scopa crew has opened a relaxed new Latin-inspired restaurant across from Rossoblu in Fashion District’s City Market South project, and the results are pretty terrific. Antonia Lofaso compiles a shareable menu of crispy squash flowers, oxtail tacos, and red snapper escabeche that work great after some frozen tropical cocktails. That patio is a great place to spend time during long summer nights.

Chef Wes Avila expands the bill of fare with share plates and more homages to Chicano-American comfort food.
